Your LinkedIn Headline Is a Search Field, Not a Job Title

Recruiters search LinkedIn with role-based queries. Your headline carries disproportionate weight in whether you appear in those results, which means it should contain the language of the roles you want, not only the title you currently hold.

A strong structure is target role, domain and differentiator. It stays honest while broadening the queries you match.

Avoid vague aspiration statements. 'Open to opportunities' matches almost nothing a recruiter searches for, while 'Cloud Infrastructure Engineer | AWS | Migration and Cost Optimisation' matches a great deal.

Then make the About section deliver. Visibility gets you found; substance gets you contacted.
