Federal Careers
Why Federal Resumes Require More Detail, Not Less
Federal hiring is criteria-driven. Reviewers must find specific evidence of specialised experience, and they cannot infer what is not written.
Read the announcement before writing a line. Specialised experience statements define what must be demonstrated.
Include hours per week, dates, supervisor details where requested and the scope of each role at the level of detail the announcement implies.
Length is a function of evidence. A five-page federal resume that answers the criteria outperforms a polished two-page document that does not.
